About Be Jewelry

Erin was an accomplished pianist with huge heart and a giving tender soul. She was dedicated to supporting the organizations who needed help. Over the years she was inspired by the good work of many organizations and happily donated the profits of her work to charities such as Operation Smile, The Snow Suit Fund, The Food Bank, Progeria, The Turner Syndrome Society of Canada and many more. Erin and her brother Cam would busk in local outdoor venues, Erin playing keyboard and Cam guitar and they donated their profits to the Ottawa Mission.

Erin loved composing music, teaching piano and studying music history and composition. Her dream came true when she was accepted into the University of Toronto Faculty of Music and was awarded the highest scholarship available to a first-year student. Erin was an exceptional student who loved school and dreamed of studying music in university.

Tragically in her last year of high school, upon her return from her school music program's trip to Austria and Prague in April 2018, Erin was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive type of muscle and soft tissue cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. She fought this merciless disease for 18 months, enduring chemo, radiation, unexpected adverse effects and multiple relapses. Throughout this she remained positive, strong and laser-focused on her future and her dreams of attending university. Erin was robbed of that dream in August of 2019 when she suffered 2 grand mal seizures and was diagnosed with brain metastases, we lost our beautiful and amazing Erin on September 18th 2019, the darkest day of my life.

With the support of my friends, I have been able to continue the charitable work that meant so much to Erin. Last year's Holiday sale raised $4000 that was donated to start an education fund for the nurses in the Ottawa Hospital Oncology units, the nurses who cared and loved Erin for 18 months and to Candlelighters Childhood Cancer support program of Eastern Ontario, who supported us and so many other families throughout our cancer journey. This year Covid-19 has prevented me from having the sale as usual at our home, so I hope that this site inspires you to buy yourself or a loved one something special and help support the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre Foundation.

Please visit the site regularly as new pieces will be added. I will do for as long as possible to keep my Erin's spirit and memory alive and continue her legacy of giving and love. Thank you for stopping by Be Jewelry 💙🎹
